Weekly Update, Two Weeks in the Making...

Well, it's been a while... sorry about that. A lot has happened since the last update, though. We have had 3 contestants go home, and Adam has found himself in the bottom three... something tells me this will stay interesting for the next 3 weeks!

Saying goodbye to Lil and Anoop presented some problems with the matrix, since it was determined that the only fair way for everyone was to have the double elimination go home in the order that would help each of you the most. Interestingly enough, everyone (except 1) benefited more from having Anoop go first, followed by Lil. David Denton had Anoop going home last week, though, so he got an extra point for Lil then Anoop. The current matrix reflects this, although it really happens behind the scenes...

Moving on... this week, we said goodbye to Matt... which I don't think came as a total surprise. However, I think everyone was surprised to see Adam in the bottom three this week. It may be a good thing for the Adam fans, though, as now people will be more motivated to place their votes. It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out!

Below are the current standings:
Just remember, getting the correct Idol at the end is worth 5 points, so even if you are a few points back now, if you guessed the idol correctly, you could be pushed to the front of the pack! The scores are very close this year so the next 3 eliminations will be critical! Do take note that Tiffany got another elimination correct. Amazing! Check the full matrix here.

Stay tuned, and we'll see you next week!

Yet again... proving there's a first time for everything...

Well... the results are in... and they did it folks. This week the judges utilized their phenominal power and saved their first (and only) contestant from the unruly grasp of the American Idol voting public. Seriously.

Matt was recipient of the lowest number of votes this week. And despite Simon's opinions, the judges decided to save him from elimination. So... that's great and all, but what does that mean for you and your pool? You thought someone was going home this week? Think again.

Well, as I outlined a few weeks ago, this may not be all bad. Next week, two people are going home, and to make it fair, the two eliminations next week will be ordered to help your score the most. Granted, I have no idea yet how that is going to work, but I'll figure something out (I hope). This season has already been full of enough twists that I shouldn't be surprised. I look forward to next year when the American Idol producers decide that not only do contestants have to sing well, but to avoid elimination, they'll be required to eat 17 bowls of jello while traversing through a swamp teeming with angry crocodiles (I hear it builds character). Then we'll have a show. And I'll see if JR will run the matrix.

Anyway... no score update for this week... next week could be interesting! See you then!

There's a first time for everything...

Greetings!

Welcome to the first official blog update for the Idol Madness 2009 season! Here's how it goes... below you will find a preview of this week's standings, which reflect the latest elimination vote. There will also be a link for the full score PDF, where you can view the detailed standings for yourself and all of the other contestants (you know, to see who you should befriend in hopes that they'll buy you lunch after they win their cash). So with that...

This week we said farewell to Scott... Interestingly enough, a lot of you had him going home this week, so scores have jumped around a little bit from the last update. But here's something worth noting... Newcomer Tiffany Lawrie, who was in the lead last week, maintains the lead by getting yet another elimination correct! That is three in a row. I don't know for sure, but I don't think that has ever happened in the history of Idol Madness. So kudos to you, Tiffany! If you keep it up, you will be untouchable to the end!

There are a lot of people close behind, too. In fact, there have been a good number of correct eliminations across the board this year. Some seasons hardly anyone gets the eliminations correct, but this year is shaping up to be a different story. Those correct eliminations definitely get you closer to winning it all, so don't get discouraged if you're currently behind. A couple good weeks can put you back on top.

So enough chit chat... here are the current standings:

As you can see, there are a number of you in the hunt for first... this will prove to be an interesting season!

If you want the full breakdown, the matrix can be found here.

Well, that's all for now... see you all next week!
